Ya hawa Beirut is one of my absolute favorite Fairuz songs and whenever I'm feeling like I should be in a bar in Gemayze somewhere, I just listen to it. Well, guess what I found today?

I just find it hillarious.
That would be Um Kulthum, famous Egyptian singer, shouting Bouss el Wawa, one of Haifa's most popular songs.

I love Um Kulthum and Abdul Wahab and Abdel Halim and Warda and the list goes on for those great singers... but Fairuz, I find her utterly boring. Like I could fall asleep listening to her. Sometimes it feels like she's whining... I only like her in a very limited number of songs and that's because the songs are impeccably composed.
