Déjà Vu x 4 !!!!

this is just getting ridiculous!

Early we blogged about Miley Cyrus who wore a Zuhair Murad dress that we discovered was inspired by a Christian Dior gown...

The original 1948 Dior gown

The Zuhair Murad dress worn by Miley Cyrus, inspired by the Dior gown

Then we found that Georges Chakra had copied the style as well and made dresses we saw on Jamie King and Emily Blunt

Jamie King in Georges Chakra

Emily Blunt in Georges Chakra

So just to follow in case you're as confused as I am:

Original dress: Christian Dior -->
Zuhair Murad worn by Miley Cyrus -->
Georges Chakra worn by Jamie King -->
Georges Chakra worn by Emily Blunt

And now we have a NEW addition to the chain!

Oh yes, a company known as edressme that takes celebrity styles and copies them and makes them into prom dresses has now stolen the Zuhair Murad dress--and you can buy it for $470.00; a little much for a fake dress by a company called "edressme", wouldn't you say??

This is one popular dress!

We know this chain will only get longer...

Lebanese Haute Couture on CNN

hmmmm....we'd like to think that CNN's George Webster has been reading BetLZ...
not only did he write the article about Zuhair Murad (which we posted yesterday) just a day after our Zuhair Murad post, but he JUST wrote and article for CNN titled "The glamorous world of Lebanese haute couture" in which he focuses on Zuhair Murad, Reem Acra and Elie Saab.

Some highlights:

"Perhaps better known for conflict than high fashion, the tiny cosmopolitan nation of Lebanon has recently produced a dazzling crop of designers who have been getting noticed far outside the country's borders."

"The Beirut-based designer [Zuhair Murad] acknowledges his country's unexpected presence on the global fashion scene, which he attributes in part to its position on the map.

"I think the geographic location of Lebanon on the Mediterranean Sea helps the Lebanese designer to travel abroad and present their collections all over the world," he told CNN."

Click here to read the original article that includes a slideshow of images, many of which you will notice have been already posted on BetLZ :)

We're on to you George Webster!!

While we're at it, look at this photo just snapped of Gwyneth Paltrow in Elie Saab at the Laureus World Sports Awards in Abu Dhabi. I. WANT. THAT. DRESS.

Good job Gwynnie, good job.

You know what? While we're at it, why don't you read this New York Times article about Elie Saab's new autumn/winter collection (seems a bit early no?). Well apparently, he's going all-black--no color? What? Well if ES is doing it we trust him.

Lebanese Designers: Zuhair Murad Revisited, Rania Salibi Introduced, and of course, Elie Saab

It seems after we posted about him, everyone began talking about Zuhair Murad!

See this CNN article and VIDEO titled "Lebanese designer-to-the-stars Zuhair Murad finds magic in Beirut." The article is a MUST READ!!

Also, after we published the list of pictures of celebrities in Zuhair Murad, look who we found in ZM at the 2010 Vanity Fair Oscar Party??

It's Katy Perry!

But alas, the Lebanese Designer news amidst Oscar Buzz does not end there!

Did anyone notice the dress of that woman that walks on and off with the winners at the Oscars? Who cares who she is, but her dress this year was made by Rania Salibi, a Lebanese designer (what, you can't tell by her name, skinny figure and ridiculously frizzy hair??) who entered and won a competition with other designers who were hoping to dress that Oscar lady.

Rania Salibi with her winning dress

Read about it HERE.

And finally, last but certainly NOT least, this ABC News article on Elie Saab titled "Elie Saab Offers up Choices for Hollywood Fans," and just for fun, here's a picture of actress Hilary Swank in Elie Saab.

Yeyyy for Lebanese fashion designers!!

Zuhair Murad: A New Celebrity Favorite a BetLZ Oldie

Look what we stumbled across:

"The pre-Oscar fashion buzz goes as follows: Zuhair Murad may not be a household name, but his entire collection has been reserved by Jennifer Lopez in the hopes of avoiding anyone wearing a similar gown to hers. She’s not called a diva for nothing."
Source: Telegraph

Well, Lopez didn't wear Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad to the 2010 Oscars, instead she wore this hideous Armani Prive creation that made her ass look about 100 times bigger:

Just for the heck of it, why don't we look at some celebrities in Zuhair Murad in anticipation ofthe new collection-temporarily hijacked by J.Lo?

Vanessa Williams

Paris Hilton

Olivia Wilde

Miley Cyrus

Kristin Chenoweth

Kim Kardashian

Kerry Washington

Kelly Pickler

Kate Walsh

Jennifer Carpenter

Haifa Wehbe--a Zuhair Murad junkie, though she opts--in traditional Lebanese fashion--for his tackier looks

Haifa Wehbe

Fergie

Emily Blunt

Carrie Underwood

Beyonce

Beyonce

Audrina Patridge

I have to say--the Olivia Wilde and Kim Kardashian dresses are my favorite, though they are almost all gorgeous (the Kate Walsh one with the tacky flower I could do without)

Can't blame J.Lo for calling dibs on the new collection!

Oscars 2010 - Lebanese Designers

The Oscars were last night--who watched?

Well if you did or you didn't and you were wondering who was wearing Lebanese designers, these are the three that I found that topped the Best-Dressed lists.

Go ahead and see if you can guess the designer (answers below)

Nicole Richie

Rachel McAdams

Anna Kendrick

Nicole is in Reem Acra -- surprise, no? I thought it looks more like an Elie Saab or Zuhair Murad with the heavy beading

Rachel in Elie Saab

And Anna in Elie Saab, again!

Anna in Elie Saab at the VH1 Critics Choice Movie Awards

Another ES junkie on our hands?

Li2mi Zgheeri (A Little Taste...) n°13

I knew it!

When I was watching the Grammys I saw Carrie Underwood's dress while she was performing the MJ Tribute onstage and I thought "that looks like Reem Acra!"

When I compiled the pics of the celebs wearing Lebanese Designers, I couldn't find mention of Carrie's performance dress anywhere--only of her Red Carpet Georges Chakra Dress...

But as it turns out, I was right! (My friends will tell u I like to think I'm right all the time...not true!)

Check out the pics below and read the following:

Carrie Underwood's Grammy Style Snapped Up

Posted: February 2nd, 2010 at 12:42 pm | By: Alison Bonaguro
Technically, I'm still on the waiting list at this Gilt.com sample sale virtual outlet. But I really wish I'd been a member yesterday (Feb. 1) because they are the proud sellers of everything awesome, like the same style of dress Carrie Underwood rocked during the Michael Jackson tribute at the Grammy Awards. You know, the gold lame strapless chiffon one with all that beading going on at the waist? That one. (Not to be confused with the rock star-turned-angel white Georges Chakra one she had on on the red carpet.) The gown is by a Lebanese designer Reem Acra, who is quickly becoming a favorite of anyone going anywhere important. But alas, it sold out within hours of going on sale at this inventory reduction hot spot for around $1,500. The original retail price was more in the neighborhood of $5,400. Both prices are way beyond my reach, but I am genuinely happy for whoever is the proud new owner.

Li2mi Zgheeri (A Little Taste...) n°8

June 7th: Lebanese Parliamentary Elections

June 11th: Battle of the Short & Chic Elie Saab Cocktail Dress

(Both equally as important)

#1. The One-Shoulder Rockstar: Actress Drew Barrymore in a teal blue one-shoulder Elie Saab dress. Long sleeve draped one-shoulder dress? That's a new take...Interesting shoe choice. Beyoncé's shoes from the image below would have gone better...

vs.

#2. 1950's Dinner Party: Beyoncé in a very chic white day dress. Very Jackie-O. She paired it very nicely with the shoes. Love the fabric hanging off the top right of the dress. How to keep this clean? Oh yes, don't wear it more than once...

So who wins this vote?

Li2mi Zgheeri (A Little Taste...) n°7

Jordana Brewster, American actress from "The Fast and the Furious", in Reem Acra

Interesting choice of having that leather jacket covering up half the dress. And metallic fabric? Really? I have to say the top one is not a favorite..

The second purple dress looks beautiful on the model, not so much on Jordana--it was definitely custom-tailored for her. It loses the wavey folds on the bottom and becomes pretty simple and not too special. Whereas the original looks grecian, Jordana's loses that element.

Sorry Reem :(
